TITLE: Tilings with convex polygons
ABSTRACT:
A well-known result of Oded Schramm says that, given a planar triangulation G and a choice of strictly convex shape at each vertex, there is a packing with nerve G using homothetic copies of the shapes. We'll discuss an analogous result for tilings with convex polygons. The result has connections with the dimer model and cluster algebras.
