Lessons from the Front Lines: Machine Learning at Scale for Real Time Process Control
Thursday, April 01, 2021 at 12:00pm
Virtual EventPresenter: Chris Couch, the CTO of CooperStandard, and the founder and CEO of Liveline Technologies
Zoom: https://mit.zoom.us/j/93441172897
Abstract:
Liveline Technologies is automating the creation of automation by using reinforcement learning to design advanced controls systems that are used for high-speed, real-time process control in large manufacturing environments. In this seminar, Chris Couch (BS ’92, MS ’93, PhD ‘98) will discuss some of the technical and practical challenges that the Liveline team has faced as they scale the technology globally.
Bio:
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Chris is the CTO of a public company, CooperStandard, and also the Founder and CEO of Liveline Technologies. His career has covered three phases: As a manufacturing engineer at Toyota in Japan, as the leader of a $2 billion business in Asia Pacific for a global automotive supplier, and most recently as Chief Technology Officer of two public companies. He also participates in the startup community as an All-Star mentor for Techstars and as an angel investor. Chris lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which does not have better weather than he “enjoyed” on campus at MIT, but it does have a better football team. Usually.
