System Design and Management (SDM) is a program offering multidisciplinary graduate education as part of both the School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. In SDM experienced engineers and scientists learn to reason, architect, design, and lead implementation of systems to address the world’s most complex challenges. Twenty-two teams of experienced engineers have spent four months formulating responses to complex systems challenges from industry and government sponsors across a range of domains such as energy, civil infrastructure, health, transportation, aerospace, and more. Their work has included exploring stakeholders, framing each problem, generating concepts, defining architectures, modeling systems, estimating performance across tradespace, and designing implementation projects. Each team will explain the results of their research and design in a brief presentation.
