Whether Shakespeare intimidates, bores, or thrills you, this IAP series is for you! Not only will you come to understand Shakespeare, you'll actually ENJOY him! How, pretell?
Through movies! Since the birth of film, folks have brought Shakespeare's plays to the silver screen in a plethora of languages and styles, However, the 1990's are truly his golden age (or Renaissance, if you will).
Each session, we'll watch a film together (with classic movie popcorn and candy) and then discuss it. Come to all of them, or just one and try it out!
Together, we will explore the many complicated sides of Shakespeare: hilarious, tragic, jealous, sexy, dirty, violent, and romantic. You'll be guided through the language barriers and all the complexity so that you dig into what Shakespeare's actually saying and discover why he still matters 500 years later.
