2021 MIT $15K Creative Arts Competition Finale
Pitch Event May 11, 2021 / 5pm

Please join us for the exciting finale event of the 2021 $15K Creative Arts Competition.

Months of effort from student teams culminate in this event where five teams present their arts-related ventures to a panel of esteemed adjudicators. Following deliberation, a winning team will be announced and the $15,000 prize will be awarded.

About the competition: The $15K Creative Arts Competition is an annual contest established in 2013 to foster arts-focused startups at the Institute. The $15,000 prize is awarded as a grant to help launch the winning enterprise and enable the recipient(s) to join the ranks of MIT’s successful startup founders.

Students competing in this year’s competition participated in a series of mini-conferences, workshops, and panel discussions throughout the fall, and submitted their initial business plans in early February. Since that time, student teams have had access to mentorship from arts entrepreneurship community leaders and have been refining their ventures’ concepts, business plans, and pitches for semi-final judging. The top five teams advance from the semi-finals to present to our judges and audience.

Azeki Road builds and provides tech-enabled solutions that ease the global, direct-to-consumer operations for luxury and premium brands based in Africa. We aim to serve as the operational infrastructure these brands and creative founders need to capture more of the value that they create at scale.

Casso is on a mission to make creativity more accessible. Casso is a free platform that showcases diverse artwork anyone can create with tutorials and supply recommendations.

Fermentation Heritage Project is reviving the art of fermentation with a modern touch. Our intelligent fermentation chamber simplifies food fermentation at home.

Rivet empowers musicians and creators to build and scale one-to-one relationships with their superfans and provides the most effective monetization platform that removes obstacles to growing their base into higher value fans, and taking home more revenue than any other platform.

Volar empowers the growing middle class of content creators in Latam with the business and software tools necessary to monetize their audience. Volar takes the core elements of Shopify (e-commerce, analytics, flexibility), and simplifies them specifically for creators so they can focus on their audience and content.
