Day 1
The Lost Black Cat Squadron
Flying top-secret spy plane missions over China, the Black Cat squadron's story is one of patriotic youth doing all they can for their country. However, 2 of these men were captured in China. What does fate have for them?
Late Life: The Chien-Ming Wang Story
Chien-Ming Wang was the first Taiwanese MLB pitcher. Not only was he the first, he was also a rising star as the the starting pitcher for the New York Yankees. However, injury brings him off the major league mound. This is his comeback story.
Father
Hand puppets is not just a show for kids, but an art passed down in Taiwan. Li Tian-Lu was one person who mastered this art, but with his old age, he must pass this onto his son. This film explores the father son dynamic behind the backdrop of the hand puppet set.
Day 2
The Silent Teacher
Being a doctor may be one of the most sought after careers in Taiwan. In every doctor's history is a course working with a cadaver for anatomy class. This is named the "Silent Teacher." On one hand, this story takes a look behind the scenes of being a medical student, but this story also explores the Lin family as a husband bids one last farewell to his wife.
A Journey with Invisible Friends
The director originally wanted to document Taiwan's folklore religion, but little did he know the spirits have something in store for him. Accompanying spiritual mediums, this film explores the eccentricities of Taiwan's local religion.
Our Youth in Taiwan
Golden Horse Award winner (Mandarin Oscars), Our Youth in Taiwan follows two activists as they traverse Taiwan's vibrant social activism. One is a Chinese international student in Taiwan, as she explores Taiwan's democracy and civil activism. The other, a local Taiwanese who became a super star from the Sunflower Movement.
