Hello and thank you for your interest in MIT iGEM!

This event is an information session for those interested in the 2025 MIT iGEM Team.

MIT iGEM is a student-led team run out of the MIT Huang-Hobbs BioMakerSpace (HHBMS) that uses synthetic biology to advance solutions to real-world problems. This year's project theme is mRNA-based therapeutics. Students will develop a project that brings mRNA-based therapeutics closer to reality.

Prior experience with molecular or synthetic biology is not required, but we do expect a 7.012 level biology background. MIT first-years, sophomores, and juniors are welcome to apply.

An informational video on MIT iGEM and the application process will be available at a later time.

Please email any questions to mit-igem@mit.edu.

Application Instructions: Read through the iGEM Team Handbook to understand the different roles you may apply for on the team. Answer all the MIT iGEM 2025 Application Questions in a separate document and provide a link to your responses below. This form contains a few additional questions that should be answered as well.

Application decisions will be released on Saturday, 1/25. The first meeting for accepted members will take place on Monday, 1/27 @ 11am.

This form must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, January 17, 2025. Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis.

You can always access the application form by going to https://tinyurl.com/mitigem25app.
