Speakers:
Andrey Kortunov is the director general of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute for US and Canada Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1982. His academic interests include contemporary international relations and Russian foreign policy.
Angela Stent is director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies and a professor of government and foreign service at Georgetown University. She is also a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and co-chairs its Hewett Forum on post-Soviet affairs. Her academic work focuses on the triangular political and economic relationship between the United States, Russia, and Europe.
A session of the Focus on Russia Lecture Series co-chaired by Elizabeth Wood, professor of history at MIT and faculty director of the MIT Russia Program; and Carol Saivetz, a senior advisor in the MIT Security Studies Program (SSP).
