GIS Level 3: Using Python for Geoprocessing in ArcGIS Pro and Geopandas

Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1:00pm to 4:30pm

Building 7A – Rotch Library, 7-238, GIS & Data Lab, Rotch Library
77 MASSACHUSETTS AVE, Cambridge, MA 02139

Are you a GIS user and a novice Python programmer? We will help you to automate geoprocessing tasks and document processing steps for future use using Python scripts. This workshop will cover how to implement both arcpy (Arcgis Pro Python module) and Geopandas in Python. You should have some experience with GIS prior to this  workshop.

Having experience with a scripting language in R, Stata, Matlab, or similar environments is helpful but not necessary. This is a hands on workshop. You should expect to write code (and we will help you debug it!) during the workshop.

Bring your MIT to tap into the GIS & Data Lab. The mobile ID will not work.
