Moderator:
Jim Walsh is a senior research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Security Studies Program (SSP). His research and writings focus on international security, and in particular, topics involving nuclear weapons, the Middle East, and East Asia.
Panelists:
Joe Cirincione is president of Ploughshares Fund, a global security foundation. He is also the host of Press The Button, a weekly podcast from Ploughshares Fund dedicated to nuclear policy and national security. He has worked on nuclear weapons policy in Washington for over 35 years and is considered one of the top experts in the field.
Vipin Narang is an associate professor of political science at MIT and a member of MIT’s Security Studies Program. He is an expert in nuclear proliferation, nuclear strategy, South Asia, international relations, and international security.
Yasmeen Silva is partnerships manager at Beyond the Bomb. Her mission is to expose the intersections of the nuclear system with other oppressive systems here in the United States. Prior to joining Beyond the Bomb, Yasmeen organized across the country on issues ranging from a $15 minimum wage to reproductive rights.
