Title: Eisenstein series, L-genera, and related topics

Abstract:

The goal of these lectures is to have a basic and example-oriented discussion of the geometric and topological constructions that appear in our work with David Kazhdan on spectral analysis of Eisenstein series. While the problems we study arise in the classical spectral theory of automorphic forms, one may reasonably hope that our way to approaching them may be also of interest to specialists in other areas.
