Join us for a very special lunchtime concert, as mezzo-soprano Felicia Gavilanes performs a program of arias and art song by Jake Heggie, Joseph Canteloube, and Enrique Granados. Concert is free and open to the public.

Acclaimed as “sensitive and impassioned” by Opera News, mezzo-soprano Felicia Gavilanes is a Boston Lyric Opera Steven and Jane Aiken Emerging Artist alumna, where she has performed as The Double in The Handmaid’s Tale, First Bridesmaid in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Rosina in BLO’s outreach presentations of The Barber of Seville. A frequent performer in both mainstage and concert roles throughout New England and beyond, recent debuts include Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba, Odyssey Opera, Winter Opera St. Louis, Gulfshore Opera, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Masterworks Chorale, and Fine Arts Chorale. A dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy, Felicia completed her Bachelor of Arts in Italian Literature and Music from Dartmouth College, her Master of Music with Honors from the New England Conservatory, and her Doctorate from Florida State University. Felicia will next be heard as the Alto Soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Dartmouth College Glee Club.

Felicia is joined by pianist Jean Anderson Collier, primary opera coach at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. A graduate of New England Conservatory's D.M.A. program in collaborative piano, she has worked with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Providence, Brevard Music Festival, the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, and the University of California Summer Vocal Institute.
