About this Event
Overview
Li-ion batteries are ubiquitous, powering devices and systems from smartphones to electric cars to grid energy storage to mars helicopter Ingenious. Battery technology is a key enabler for realizing electrification and achieving net zero.
In this seminar, Xiangchun Zhang, PhD from Application Engineering at MathWorks will present an introduction to battery modeling and battery management system (BMS) design with Simulink, Simscape, and Simscape Battery.
Simulink is a block diagram environment for multidomain simulation and Model-Based Design. It supports system-level design, simulation, automatic code generation, and continuous test and verification of embedded systems. Simscape enables you to rapidly create models of physical systems within the Simulink environment.
Simscape Battery provides design tools and parameterized models for designing battery systems. You can create digital twins, run virtual tests of battery pack architectures, design BMS, and evaluate battery system behavior across normal and fault conditions.
The topics to be covered in the seminar include battery equivalent circuit model (ECM), battery pack modeling, battery thermal modeling, battery model parameter estimation, and battery state of charge (SOC) estimation.
