Belonging and Connectedness at MIT: Community Voices
Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Building 14, The Nexus, 14S-130
160 MEMORIAL DR, Cambridge, MA 02139
Join us on Wednesday, November 16, 4pm – 5:30pm, for a panel including MIT faculty, staff, and students discussing "Belonging and Connectedness at MIT: Community Voices", an event inspired by this semester's MIT Reads selection.
Building on themes discussed in Together by Vivek K Murthy - which sheds light on the importance of human connectedness in an often lonely world - panelists will share their perspectives on belonging and connectedness at the Institute, including: common challenges in connecting with each other, creative solutions to help build a more connected institute, finding and creating joy, and much more - and plenty of time for your questions and ideas, too.
Panelists:
- Larry Anderson, Head Coach, MIT Men’s Basketball Team and Head of House, Tang Hall
- Yunbeen Bae ‘24, Medlink and Wellbeing Ambassador
- Megan Jordan, Associate Director, MindHandHeart
- Thea Keith-Lucas, Chaplain to the Institute
- Franklin Nguyen ‘25, Medlink and Wellbeing Ambassador
Hybrid event. Registration is required for either the in-person option (MIT community members only) or the livestream option (open to all.)
Accessibility: Our events are enriched by your presence and we are committed to making them accessible. Assistive listening devices are already available in The Nexus, but please email ce-lib@mit.edu to request other accommodations.
The Nexus is situated on the first floor of MIT's Hayden Library, MIT's Building 14, located at 160 Memorial Drive. The room is on the river side of the library reading room, behind the Courtyard Café and across the room from the library service desk. If you have trouble finding it please ask at the service desk.
Link to the livestream will be provided closer to the event.
