This is a Level 2 Certification Credential in the Huang-Hobbs BioMaker Space Credential Certification Program. Open to all trained users in the "biomakerspace" training group, and those who have completed the required pre-requisites trainings with a sufficient level of proficiency. Participants will review the theory and practice of restriction digestion for DNA modification and preparation in cloning. Student will evaluate and select restriction enzymes to cut DNA into target fragments. Students will setup enzyme reactions and characterize results. Introduction will be given to various use cases including: identification and confirmation of DNA identify (e.g. plasmids), traditional cloning, and advanced DNA assembly methods such as Biobricks and Golden Gate cloning. Students will be assessed on proficiency.
