DESCRIPTION:The Breakfast Series is a regular series from the MIT Women's L
 eague.  Women in the MIT community are invited to join us to hear from wom
 en faculty and administrators explore the role of women in the academy\, s
 haring the pathways their professional lives have taken — the people and
  events that have influenced their direction.\n\nA full plated breakfast w
 ill be served\, prepared by Chef Patrick Campbell.\n\nOur Spring speaker i
 s Sally Haslanger\, Ford Professor of Philosophy and Women’s and Gender 
 Studies at MIT.  She has published in metaphysics\, epistemology\, feminis
 t theory\, and critical race theory.  Broadly speaking\, her work links is
 sues of social justice with contemporary work in epistemology\, metaphysic
 s\, philosophy of language\, and philosophy of mind. A collection of her p
 apers that represent this effort over twenty years was collected in Resist
 ing Reality: Social Construction and Social Critique (Oxford 2012)\, and i
 t received the Joseph B. Gittler award for outstanding work in philosophy 
 of the social sciences. She has co-edited three books that further reflect
  the breadth of her interests: with Elizabeth Hackett\, Theorizing Feminis
 ms: A Reader (Oxford 2005)\; with Charlotte Witt\, Adoption Matters: Philo
 sophical and Feminist Essays (Cornell 2005)\; with Roxanne Marie Kurtz\, P
 ersistence: Contemporary Readings (MIT Press 2006).\n\nTickets\, which inc
 lude a full cooked breakfast\, are $10\, and payable by check or cash.  Sp
