About this Event
160 MEMORIAL DR, Cambridge, MA 02139
https://libcal.mit.edu/calendar/events/carpentriesMIT-2024-10-25This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of using Git and Github to manage a project, including using version control and working with collaborators, as well as how to best use these tools to document and share your work in a reproducible and open fashion. It is designed for people with little to no experience with Github and is based on the Software Carpentries Git lesson. Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.
This registration is for Introduction to Git/Github only. We are also teaching an introductory Python workshop the day before, on Oct. 24; use this link (https://libcal.mit.edu/calendar/events/carpentriesMIT-2024-10-24) to register for that workshop.
