MIT and the Community Art Center invite you to enjoy food and conversations with your neighbors as we celebrate the newly installed Handle the Vision Mural and the talented youth artists who created it.

The Handle the Vision mural was sponsored by MIT and designed by Master Artist Destiny Palmer in collaboration with Community Art Center’s artistic apprentices. Through coordinated community workshops, they inspired participants with prints of hands - holding, grasping, and making a heart with fingers and thumbs. Participants were asked to consider how their hands build community and to use that inspiration to transform their canvasses into works of art. Those works, combined with designs from the Community Art Center team, create a mural that celebrates the connection between the communities of MIT, The Port, and Kendall Square.
