Join us for an engaging discussion on civil rights in the workplace with MIT alumni and practicing lawyers Kristin Smith and Rob Corbisier. Speakers:
Kristin Smith specializes in intellectual property law, particularly in life sciences, with a focus on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She holds a law degree and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, along with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT. Kristin is a member of MIT’s Pay Equity Working Group and is actively involved in AMITA.
Rob Corbisier began his career in public service with the U.S. Senate after graduating from MIT in 1998, which sparked his interest in law. He attended Vermont Law School, known for its strong environmental and resources program. Rob then returned to Alaska, where he held policy roles in the administration of Governor Frank Murkowski and spent over five years in the District Attorney’s Office refining his litigation skills. After seven years in private practice, he returned to public service to assist with a crime bill and was subsequently appointed to rebuild the Alaska State Commission for Human Rights, where he currently serves as Executive Director.
