Closing Celebration for South Asia and the Institute: Transformative Connections

Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Walker Memorial Morss Hall, 50-140

South Asia and the Institute: Transformative Connections showcases the longstanding connections between MIT and South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal) that go back more than 140 years. This year-long exhibit which opened at MIT’s Maihaugen Gallery in October 2022, will come to a close this October.

Join us for a special celebration of the exhibit and larger history project that commemorates the far-reaching accomplishments, technical expertise, and ingenuity that have made significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge at MIT and life beyond the institute, in South Asia, the United States and across the world.

This closing celebration will include tours of the exhibit, remarks from Institute leaders, launch of a short documentary about the MIT-IIT relationship and will feature musical performances from JĀGĀ - musicians from the Berklee Indian Ensemble. Light refreshments will be served.
