ABOUT THE CREATIVE ARTS COMPETITION
Building on MIT’s entrepreneurship legacy, the Creative Arts Competition supports arts-focused startups at the Institute, helping to turn students’ big ideas into successful business ventures.
A year-long challenge, the Creative Arts Competition equips a cohort of semi-finalists, selected in Fall by application, with mentors and workshops to hone their products, business models, and pitches. Throughout the Fall, workshop events and Creative Cafés are open to the public, allowing potential collaborators to meet each other and venture-build in advance of the November 15th application deadline. The Competition culminates in a spring pitch event on April 4th, where finalists compete for a $15,000 prize to launch new solutions for the creative industries. arts.mit.edu/win.
ABOUT DESIGNX
MITdesignX is the Program for entrepreneurship and innovation at the School of Architecture and Planning. Each year they run a venture accelerator for early stage ideas focused on design, cities and the human environment. Accepted participants will enter two courses (IAP and Spring 23), receive mentorship and $10,000 toward their venture. Teams in MITdesignX are encouraged to join other entrepreneurial programs and prizes at MIT. Applications are open through Nov. 1.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Inclusive Innovation Series pulls together events and initiatives organized by MIT’s innovation and entrepreneurship community around intersecting topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship. By convening the community around these important topics inside MIT’s newest home for innovators, MIT Office of Innovation aims to increase the ecosystem’s accessibility to communities historically underrepresented in innovation, entrepreneurship & STEM. We know the world’s most pressing issues require breakthrough innovations from diverse teams, and we believe these teams can meet and discover the rich resources of the I&E ecosystem through this series.
