About this Event
Calling all experts and amateurs! Join MIT OpenCourseWare, Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) and participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to collect and curate resources on the intersection between culturally relevant teaching and open education practices.
Log into our shared Google Doc any time during Open Education Week but especially Tuesday, March 7 @ 1:00–2:00 p.m. EST, when MIT OpenCourseWare, HBCU, and MERLOT stakeholders will be live in the comments.
Categories will include: scholarly literature, blog posts, websites, podcast episodes, information about local thought leaders, social media posts, and more. There will also be an open questions category.
We believe culturally responsive teaching and open education, when combined, have the potential to promote a more just society. We'll use this document to inform our collaborations with educators doing the hard work of realizing this vision. We hope you will, too.
We look forward to growing together this new open database of resources that will inform important equity work in local and global spaces.
