About the Author: Bob Weis was an Imagineer from 1980 to 2022 and was President of Imagineering from 2016 to 2021. He was the chief designer of Disney Hollywood Studios, at Walt Disney World, led the successful reinvention of Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, and was the principal creative executive for Shanghai Disneyland Resort. During his leadership at WDI, he led teams that accomplished more than 300 major breakthrough projects around the world, including the newest fleet of cruise ships, with a capital budget of more than $30 billion. Bob is known as a passionate and compassionate leader of the WDI creative and community. He was a trusted strategic creative partner to Marty Sklar, Michael Eisner, and Frank Wells, Bob Iger, and Bob Chapek. His leadership has been recognized with the TEA Lifetime Achievement Award, and an Honorary PhD from California Polytechnic University, where he also now serves as an Executive Business Advisor to the School of Environmental Design.
