HOMELESS is a documentary that humanizes unhoused people and explores their backgrounds, dreams and struggles to find the way home. It follows the stories of 5 homeless individuals, who ended up living on the street and losing hope – especially in themselves. In addition, the film includes segments with US president Joe Biden, the mayors of Los Angeles and New York City, the HUD secretary, the FBI director, and prominent homelessness advocates.

HOMELESS is not only a documentary, but also a valuable tool in the fight to end homelessness. The United Nations Human Settlements Programme called it "a very powerful documentary," and it will use it to raise awareness for its World Urban Campaign and #HousingMatters Campaign. The film strives to foster empathy and understanding, while also challenging viewers to reconsider how homelessness is perceived and addressed.

HOMELESS has garnered support from countless organizations, which are featured in the film through interviews with their representatives: Donald Whitehead Jr (National Coalition for the Homeless), Christine Auclair (World Urban Campaign by UN-Habitat), Catrina Grigsby-Thedford (Nevada Homeless Alliance), Christine Hess (Nevada Housing Coalition), Chris Petersen (ACLU of Nevada), etc.

HOMELESS was filmed in Las Vegas because of the city’s contrast between the luxurious casinos and the desolate streets where homeless people struggle to survive. But homelessness is a global challenge: The United Nations Human Settlements Program estimates that 1.6 billion people live in inadequate housing, and the best available data suggests that more than 100 million people have no housing at all.
