BIOSENSORS FOR COMMUNITY-BASED ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING 

While advances in low-cost and cell-free biological sensing have made these technologies field-deployable, most have never actually been tested outside of the laboratory they were designed in. This talk will touch on some of the advancements which have allowed cell-free biosensors out of the lab, including community engagement and field trial considerations.

Often advances in biotechnology have been limited to those who have the resources and ability to access these technologies to better health, the environment, and more. We currently face an age where challenges in health equity and access and more can be addressed with advances in biotechnology and education.
