FACS Workshop (Introductory)

In this single-session, three-hour introductory workshop, participants are instructed in the basic theory and practice of fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Participants will gain hands-on experience with flow cytometry and sorting on the Sony SH800 in the Huang-Hobbs BioMaker Space. Topics will include basic FACS theory, instrument setup and calibration, running standards and adjusting compensation, running samples, setting gates, bulk sorting parameters, and single-cell sorting modes. Limited to 6 participants. Assumes experience with general biological laboratory skills and techniques.
