Faculty Recital: Mi-Eun Kim, piano

Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Building 14, Killian Hall
160 MEMORIAL DR, Cambridge, MA 02139

New MIT piano faculty, Mi-Eun Kim (DMA) explores Beethoven’s middle period with three sonatas and the beloved Andante favori. These pieces capture Beethoven’s interest and interaction with notable piano makers in Vienna, Paris and London who were on the cusp of revolutionizing the technology of piano making and sound production. The program highlights the idea of these works as ‘sibling pieces,’ sharing strong similarities in both form and technique.
