About this Event
View mapDiscover the harmonious fusion of music and film at our upcoming Film Scoring Workshop! We're thrilled to host Tina Deng, a talented musician from Berklee College of Music, at the Lewis Music Library Audio Lab. Surrounded by a professional production environment, Tina will introduce the essentials of film scoring through a concrete example, and then provide a film clip for all the participants to practice scoring. You'll gain hands-on experience of composing film music with digital audio workstation (DAW) software, as well as invaluable insights into how music enhances the emotional impact of movies, turning scenes into unforgettable moments.
Please bring your own headphone for playback; bring your own laptop if you feel more comfortable to write music on that. Also, note that the following are *REQUIRED* to participate this event:
1. Be familiar with at least one digital audio workstation (DAW) software. We have Logic Pro and GarageBand installed on library computers, but if you want others you need to bring your own laptop;
2. Be familiar with writing music with a MIDI keyboard, or, have some experience playing any kinds of keyboard instrument
3. Have at least *some* experience of writing music (it's ok if it was only a 1-minute melody, lol)
