The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, on September 25, 2020, published a Proposed Rule to change the period of admission to the U.S. for F and J Students and Scholars to a fixed period, eliminating “Duration of Status (D/S).” The MIT International Scholars Office (ISchO) and International Students Office (ISO) will host this Forum to provide a summary of the Proposed Rule, potential impact on MIT international students and scholars, and address pre-submitted questions. For those unable to attend the Forum live, the presentation slides and video/audio will be made available soon after the Forum.
