Graduate Student Lunch Seminar
Monday, October 07, 2019 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Room : 2 - 139 182 memorial Drive, MIT Building 2, Cambridge, MA, 02142
Abstract : Steenrod operations are great, so clearly, quantum Steenrod operations must be even more spectacular. These are operations on the mod p cohomology of a smooth complex algebraic variety (or symplectic manifold), defined under certain assumptions. In fact, we know very little about them. Against the background of this lack of understanding, and the complexity of the actual definition, I will do my best to give you an idea of the subject.
LUNCH after the talk in 2-290 (open to MIT Math grad students only)
