Did you know that our food waste ends up at a wastewater treatment plant?
Come join us and learn how our food waste turns into energy and fertilizer in North Andover, MA!
Formerly known as Greater Lawrence Sanitary District, the facility has the capacity to take in 152 wet tons per day and ultimately processes sludge into cleaner water, fertilizer and energy. For the last few years, the facility has been processing the bioslurry (liquefied food waste) from Waste Management Core facility, the first destination of food waste from MIT, city of Cambridge and beyond.
