About this Event
Embodied technologies often strive to achieve a seamless experience of a new reality. But what happens when we interrogate the seams? Artists Ben Joseph Andrews and Emma Roberts unpack their VR docu-essay project Turbulence, deconstructing VR’s illusory embodiment in order to reflect on disability, neurology, and the nature of perception.
Bio: Based on Wathaurong country in regional Australia, Ben Joseph Andrews and Emma Roberts are an artist duo working in new media, with a focus on multi-modal installations and performance. Their work seeks to create novel states of embodiment that momentarily expand perceptions, reawaken curiosity and instil a sense of awe and wonder to the world that surrounds and permeates us.
