Inspired by Nature: Small Insect-Like Robots

Using the flapping wings and crawling mechanisms of insects, new microrobots and drones are being developed for a variety of applications at centimeter scales. MIT Assistant Professor Kevin Chen will provide an introduction to the world of these bug-like bots. He will discuss the wide variety of benefits, limitations, and applications they have, including for agriculture, inspections, search and rescue, and more. After the talk, he will take questions from the audience.
