DESCRIPTION:The MIT Faculty\, as defined in Section 1.10 of Rules and Regul
 ations of the Faculty\, meets on the third* Wednesday of each month during 
 the academic year except in January. For regular meetings\, except when in 
 executive session\, non-Faculty members of the MIT community may attend as 
 listeners. However\, speaking privileges are held only by members of the Fa
 culty and others specially designated for a given meeting.\n\n*When the thi
 rd Wednesday falls on or immediately before a major holiday\, the regular m
 eeting is scheduled for either the second or the fourth Wednesday.
