Parkinson's disease (PD) was first identified by James Parkinson as the “Shaking Palsey” in 1817. The term “shaking” stuck, but the disease has progressed to encompass a cadre of movement and non-movement symptoms. While PD remains classified as a movement disorder, researchers continue to search for the cause, along with symptom relieving treatments.

Steve DeWitte was diagnosed with PD in March 2005 at the age of 48. He will share the hardships and joys of living with a progressive degenerative Neurological condition.
