Learn how to design and make a solar powered temperature and humidity sensor that utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) to store data.  No prior programming, soldering or electronics experience required.

Key Elements:

  • Basics of solar power including how to estimate energy requirements
  • Basics of Design including managing constraints, testing and iteration
  • Introduction to Arduino programming including reading sensors, connecting to WiFi, IoT and advanced power management
  • Putting it all together including assembling the components into a weather resistant enclosure

During the three sessions the course will step through the design process including the sizing of solar panels and batteries, programing the microprocessor to record data over WiFi, and building the full system into a weather resistant enclosure.

This is a 3-session workshop with limited enrollment and prior registration is required. Register Now (registration is currently full, sign up for the wait list)

By the end of the third session, you will have made your own solar powered environmental sensor with plenty of expansion possibilities.
