Keynote address featuring Mondiant Dogon, author of Those We Throw Away Are Diamonds: A Refugee's Search for Home (2021). Mondiant Nshimiyimana Dogon is a Congolese author, human rights activist, and refugee ambassador. Born into a Congolese Tutsi family in Bagogwe tribe in North Kivu province, he was forced to leave his home village, Bikenke, at the age of three because of the Rwandan genocide against Tutsis that spilled over into Congo.

Organized by the MIT Refugee Action Hub (ReACT), Na’amal, Karam Foundation and the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL), The Migration Summit is a month-long global convening designed to build bridges between diverse communities around the key challenges and opportunities for refugee and migrant communities through virtual and in-person events hosted by participating partners around the world.
