The MIT Faculty, as defined in Section 1.10 of Rules and Regulations of the Faculty, meets on the third Wednesday of each month during the academic year except in January when there is no meeting, and in May, when the meeting is held on the Wednesday of the last week of classes. In addition, when the third Wednesday falls on or immediately before a major holiday, the regular meeting is held on either the second or the fourth Wednesday.

All members of the MIT community are welcome to attend. However, only members of the Faculty and specifically designated individuals have speaking privileges, and only members of the Faculty have voting privileges. The agenda and enclosures for each meeting are posted online each month, approximately five days before the meeting. Members of the Faculty automatically receive the Call by email.
