DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Daniel Reinholz (San Diego State University)\n\nTitle
: Strategies for equitable and engaging mathematics teaching\n\nDetails:
This talk focuses on practical strategies that college mathematics instruct
ors can use to promote an equitable and engaging classroom environment. I i
llustrate these strategies using a case study including video clips from a
professional development program that I have been running for math faculty
members over the past five years. In addition to offering specific strategi
es\, I also discuss a learning process that faculty members can engage in t
o help them better uptake the strategies in an effective way. I draw heavil
y from my new book\, Equitable and Engaging Mathematics Teaching: A Guide t
o Disrupting Hierarchies in the Classroom\, which is freely available as an
ebook to MAA Members.\n\nFor more information on OLSUME: https://olsume.or
