The Science Behind Satellite Imagery: Introduction to Remote Sensing and Planet Imagery

Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00am to 12:00pm

Virtual Event

This is an introductory level workshop for users who have little to no background in remote sensing. In this session, you will be introduced to the field of remote sensing, including the methods and science behind collecting remotely sensed data. We will also cover Planet’s methods of remote sensing and the attributes that make Planet’s imagery unique.

The second half of this session will be an introduction to Planet Explorer, Planet’s web application for previewing our archive of near-daily imagery. We will review all of the exciting features this platform has to offer and how you can visualize and download imagery yourself.
