E19-202

Prehealth is pleased to bring you Part 3 of our series on Culturally Competent Patient Care. We are inviting students, faculty, and staff to spend time with us learning, discussing, and reflecting on power dynamics and intersectional identity in healthcare. Please fill out the pre-worshop survey/registration form.

In this workshop, we will take a health care lens to exploring the impacts of systemic oppression and privilege, such as race, class, gender, ability, and sexuality. There will be discussion, a panel, and time for reflection. Topics will include, but are not limited to: relations between physicians, nurses and other health professionals; delivering patient care with awareness of systemic privilege and oppression; implicit bias; self-education; allyship; racial battle fatigue; sexual harassment; transphobia; homophobia; wealth concentration and disparities; emotional health; burnout, and self-care.
