Prehealth: Finding a Mentor/Shadow Opportunity

Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

56-154

Are you looking to Shadow a Physician?  Do you want to find a physician mentor to help navigate the premed process?

Then join Prehealth Advising for a discussion on the many strategies and resources on campus that can help you find short term and long term physician shadowing & mentoring opportunities.
The topics covered will be:
- An overview of MIT’s resources that offer shadowing & mentoring opportunities.
- How to appropriately request what you need – a shadowing opportunity, a mentor, etc.
- Setting goals for your shadowing & mentoring experience (i.e. what do you want to get out of this short or long term relationship)
- Successful strategies students have used to acquire shadowing & mentoring experiences

Participants attending this event will receive special consideration for the Physician Shadow Program which opens in December.
