Scientists have been working nonstop to create a world in which robots and other devices can communicate and work together. This fast-approaching future comes with challenges including security risks from malicious third parties. MIT researcher Eduardo Castello will join us to discuss his work in securing robot systems with blockchain technology. He will cover how a new authenticated data structure known as a Merkle tree allows robots to prove they’ve performed certain actions instead of requiring humans to rely on the robots’ sensory data, making the robots more resistant to tampering. After the talk, Eduardo will take questions from the audience.
