To foster learning and inspiration, the Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC) is hosting a series of fireside chats with industry thought leaders and academic scholars to explore the opportunities and challenges that arise with the broad applicability of computing in many aspects of society.

The inaugural series kicks off on November 8 with Mira Murati, chief technology officer of OpenAI, for a conversation with Dan Huttenlocher, dean of the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, about her experience leading the company’s work on Chat GPT, Dall-E, and Codex, and opinions on the social and ethical issues in computing technologies. Murati will be joining this fireside chat via Zoom. Learn more about the event here.
