In this year's welcome event, we will share about our organization’s mission, our events last year and our targets for the upcoming academic year (see flyer attached). Paella and other refreshments will be served and RSVP using this google form is necessary for attendance

In addition, we will be holding elections for the 2022-23 board of Spain@MIT at this event. Starting August 30th, we are accepting submission of proposals for interested members of the community who may want to hold a role in the board. To express your interest please fill out which position in the board you may be interested in running for using the RSVP survey (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Industry & Science Chair, Social Chair or Sports Chair). Or even propose your own if there is a cool position that you are excited about! Submissions are not binding so even if you are unsure about it, put your proposal in and we can work together to figure out if it is a good fit. 

People interested in holding a position in the board will take priority for attendance to this in-person event and will have a chance to verbalize their proposal (informal few sentences as to why they want to run) at the event. In-person voting will happen after listening to the proposals and online voting will be available over Zoom.

**In-person attendance will be limited to 50 people and preference will be given to first year MIT students and people running for positions at the Spain@MIT board.**
