Understanding Plagiarism: The Basics
Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Bldg. E17, Room 136
Everybody knows that verbatim use of someone else's work without attribution is plagiarism. However, you may be practicing plagiarism without realizing it.
To protect against unintentional plagiarism, the first step is to understand the fundamentals of acknowledging sources and ideas.
In this workshop, we’ll talk about different forms of plagiarism; how to avoid unintentional plagiarism; and the basics of citing sources.
Bring your questions, especially the ones you’re too shy to ask your instructors! We’ll spend the latter part of the workshop exploring your concerns.
