Cambridge offers 10 free or sliding scale 3-year-old preschool programs via a lottery system each October for the following school year. Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) offers three school programs for children as young as age 3, and the Cambridge Department of Human Service Programs has seven high-quality preschools. The application deadlines for the lotteries for the September 2022 start date are at the end of this month October 2021. Please note that your child’s birth date must be between April 1, 2018 - August 31, 2019, to enter the CPS lottery and between April 1, 2018, and December 1, 2019, to enter the DHSP lottery.
