Wednesday, October 05, 2022 at 5:00pm

Building 14, Lewis Music Library 14E-109
160 MEMORIAL DR, Cambridge, MA 02139

In this workshop, artist and interaction designer Andreas Refsgaard will provide an overview of image classification and face, body, and finger tracking tools to support interaction design. Through creative examples and hands-on exercises, he rolls out the many creative and technical possibilities machine learning brings to the field, such as offering new and effective ways of prototyping and testing ideas.

Open to anyone in the MIT community; registration is required. Experience with p5.js, Processing, or similar creative coding frameworks is recommended but not a requirement. Participants should bring a functional laptop with a webcam and Google Chrome installed.

Refsgaard is a 2022-23 visiting artist at the MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology (CAST). His projects Doodle Toons and Sounds from the Mouth will be on view at Lewis Music Library (14E-109) September 26-December 20, 2022.
